The Rochester Police Department works to reduce the fear of crime in City so that to continue the same at all times.  In this regard, the Police Department also associates with the local community.  It means the community is an active participant and the team work enhances the quality to achieve the goals of the Police Department.  The Police Department in Rochester has more than 893 employees and they serve the city residents not less than 230,000.  The Department has two bureaus comprising Operations and Administration.  The Operation Bureau further consists of Patrol Division West, Patrol Division East and the Special Operations Division.  As far the as Administrative Bureau, it works with the units of Background and Recruitment Unit, Animal Services, Professional Development Section, Family and Victim Services Section, Personnel Section and Technical Services Section.
